3rd Grade Reading List
A list of recommended books of varying reading levels and genres!
And remember, before you start reading make sure it's a GOOD FIT BOOK!
Rules of a GOOD FIT BOOK
1) Ask yourself some questions before you pick a book: Is there a series I'd like to read? What topics interest me? What authors do I like?
2) Preview the book: Read the cover. Read the Table of Contents. Look at the illustrations (if the book has pictures).
3) Use the "Five Finger Rule": Choose a page in the book that interests you and read it. Put a finger up for each word on the page you chose that you do not understand. When you finish reading the page, if you have 0-1 fingers up that means the book is probably too easy for you. If you have 4-5 fingers up, the book is probably too hard. If you have 2-3 fingers up, the book is JUST RIGHT for you, so start reading!!
